the new Lukester Dictionary

Luke is now 1 year and 7 months old, time for running around and making mischief. But like a doting tita, i clap with glee everytime he learns to do new things (like playing pin-pin-de-sarapin -- hey, it's kinaray-a, we have hard vowels). I especially love to listen to him talk and say over and over again all the new words he has learned. So, without further ado, let me introduce you to the first edition of the Lukester Dictionary.

ant - ant
balik! - "come back here!"
batetball! - basketball court, ball, hoop, net, or when talking to Mark on the phone
baycow - anything with two wheels (bicycle, motorcycle), and accessories (helmet, jacket)
battub! - bathtub
bum? - "carry me please"
boom boom - any moving automobile
buuuhbbles! - bubbles
buggg - bug
beee! - bee
beebee(s) - baby/toddler
ball!!! - ball (trust me, it's always exclaimed)
booboo? - wound
cah - any non-moving automobile
dada - dad
dodge - touch
down? - "put me down now"
done? - "okay i'm done now" (i.e. done eating, done playing, etc)
doodoo! - "i want to poo" (always said with an impish smile...because, sometimes, he just wants to say the word)
doondoon - tito junjun
giwaf - giraffe
goottwee - "good tree!" while patting the leaves of the tree
iman - tito wynman
issshhh - fish
mama - mom
mum! - "i want to eat!"
nwynon...raaawrrr! - lion...rooaaar!
nana - lola wynny/grandma linda
no pinching! - "no pinching" (he says this as he pinches an adult)
patuck - pocket
potty - "i want to pee"
pungko - "sit down"
shuh - shoes
tata - tatie --> me (tita in french)
terpillow! - caterpillar
twain - train
twee - tree
twintwin - when he hears the ice cream truck passing by
twytwin - ice cream
twuck! - truck
uh-oh! - for "oh no!" or "danger!" or anything out of place
uh-oh? - "is this dangerous?" (which we respond to by saying "yes, baby, uh-oh!")
wapes - grapes
wowo - lolo noni
